Richard and Jane Carter
Proprietors
Although both Richard and Jane each worked for over 40 years in their own respective career choices, they both dreamed of someday being involved in something near and dear to their hearts.
Upon retirement in 2008, they relocated to Mooresville, North Caroina which was Jane's hometown. She had grown up in Mooresville, graduated from Mooresville High School in 1966 and then went on to pursue her career. Richard, who was born and raised in Albemarle, North Carolina, always had a love of antique cars and has owned quite a few over the years. With the antique car enthusiasm in Mooresville, he felt immediately at home.
Wanting to incorporate their love of antiques in general and Richard's knowledge on antique cars, an antique mall seemed the perfect mesh.
When Richard learned that Charlie and Evelyn Weatherman (owners of Tar Heel Hardware located across the street from the Post Office in Mooresville) were retiring and closing down their store, he approached them regarding leasing their building for the purpose of establishing an antique mall. The timing was right and thus the formation of American Classic Antiques, Inc., ("An Antique Mall of Vintage Home & Automobile Antiquities") became a reality.
Jane and Richard are committed to providing quality service to the community. They believe that a reputation as an honest and reliable business is the recipe for success and they hope that their consignment mall will be a valuable asset to the Mooresville community.
